Welcome to the Executioner`s House

Up until the beginning of the 19th century, the executioners of the imperial city of Nuremberg lived in the Henkerhaus (lit.Hangman’s House). Today, this unique building contains an exhibition dealing with the history of crime and the development of law in Nuremberg. It provides fascinating insights into the world of crime and jurisdiction in the Middle Ages and early modern period.
